Infrastructure & Safety
Investing to Maintain and Improve Our Roads and Sidewalks
Conshohocken’s roads and sidewalks are a vital component of the community. They will require significant maintenance and repairs over the next decade, which can only be achieved through careful long-term planning. I am a strong supporter of rigorous long-term capital planning to ensure these goals are met methodically instead of through unplanned (and often expensive) emergency repairs.
Prioritize Funding for Our Police Department and First Responders
As Conshohocken continues to grow, the role of its Police Department and First Responders are more important than ever. I promise to always make sure these essential agencies have the resources they need in the Borough’s budget.
Install Stop Signs, Crosswalks, and ADA Curb Ramps
Conshohocken already makes use of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds to install ADA curb ramps at key locations. I support continued participation in the CDBG program for these improvements, as well as seeking other funding sources for infrastructure projects focused on pedestrian safety.
Sustainability & Community
Advance the Initiative to use 100% Renewable Energy
In 2019, Conshohocken passed a resolution committing a full transition to renewable electricity sources by 2035 and renewable sources for heating, transportation and vehicles by 2050. This investment in our future demonstrates bold leadership and a commitment to making sure that Conshohocken does its part is sustaining our planet. I support these energy goals, and am committed to the incremental changes required each year to ensure we hit this long-term goal.
Continue Support for Our Premier Park System & Recreational Programs
Conshohocken’s public parks are some of the best in the area, and our community would not be the same without them. Equally important, our recreational and community programs offer a wide array of activities for all ages. I support Conshohocken’s continued investment in our Parks and Recreational programs. Further, I believe improvements or expansions to our Community Center should be among the long-term capital projects funded by future budgets.
Ensure Responsible Development in the Floodplain Conservation District
Conshohocken residents remember the 2021 floods from Hurricane Ida well. It was a reminder that flooding events have an impact on the entire community, not just those who reside in or near the Schuylkill River floodplain. Development and land use in the floodplain needs to be carefully managed. Any new or significantly renovated structures need to meet FEMA standards and the requirements of our Floodplain Ordinance to ensure safety during floods.
Responsible Spending
Keep Taxes Low While Continuing to Support Essential Services
Just like in our personal lives, careful budgeting and financial planning are essential for long-term success. My professional experience planning and forecasting cash requirements for a county government, supported by my accreditation as a Certified Treasury Professional, provide me a grounded and realistic approach to the Borough’s budget. I will meticulously review the Borough’s budgets and financial reports to make sure our financial position remains strong, and we continue to have sufficient resources to provide top-notch essential services.
Provide Oversight of Spending Initiatives
It’s the government’s duty to make sure that residents get a good deal on their tax dollars. My experience as a Procurement Director has shown me how to maximize value while remaining compliant with the complex contracting requirements for municipalities. Beyond evaluating the Borough’s vendors and contractors, initiatives and capital projects need to be carefully evaluated to ensure they offer true value in exchange for their cost.
